Top Tracks of 2014 – Number 5s: Manic Street Preachers, TV on the Radio & Broken Bells

  We are into the top five and the tension is palpable. Possibly. This is Walk Me To The Bridge, from the Manic Street Preachers’ outstanding Futurology album. To my ears they sound remarkably fresh at such an advanced point in their career and the more electronic Germanic influence works really well to differentiate the album from last year’s excellent, more pastoral Rewind The Film. Tracks of the Year: Number 10s

  So we are cruising into the top ten. The finishing line isn’t quite in sight, but with the help of ‘Racer Steven’ we are going to motor our way through number ten. This is Happy Idiot by TV On The Radio, the lead track from their fine recent album ‘Seeds’. It features the genius that is  David Sitek, possibly my favourite producer at the moment (Foals, Kelis, Beady Eye, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Little Dragon etc).
